Challenges

Our valued customer has requested assistance with the replacement of their WiFi equipment at the Santa Monica office. Due to identified issues related to poor signal strength and connectivity there is a need for cable repositioning. In order to address these concerns effectively we are planning to execute new cable runs and install updated WiFi equipment. Our team is committed to providing professional support throughout this process to ensure optimal performance and connectivity in the office setting.

Assessment and Solution

During this project our team was tasked with the installation and replacement of Access Points (APs) at a client's facility. The previous APs were mounted on a t-bar with some also using right-angle mounts. However the new APs required different mounts necessitating the removal of both the old APs and mounts.

In total we replaced 1 AP and installed 11 APs and relocated replaced and installed 2 APs. This amounted to a total of 14 APs that were successfully implemented. However during the process we encountered a couple of issues with two of the APs. These particular APs faced connectivity problems which required our team to tone out the cables at the Main Distribution Frame (MDF). The customer was temporarily able to resolve the issue by plugging the affected APs into different ports. We are actively working with the customer to address this issue and ensure a stable connection for these APs.

Additionally as part of our scope we were required to run two new cables. Before commencing the cable runs we discussed options with the client who informed us of an existing conduit pipe that extended from the second floor to the first floor. After searching several rooms we located a cutout in one of the second-floor rooms that allowed us to utilize this conduit for routing the cables.

To ensure the success and reliability of the project after the cables were completed the customer performed testing by plugging each cable individually into their laptop. This allowed them to verify the functionality and integrity of the newly installed cables

Advantages

Overall the installation of the 14 new access points and running the additional cables resulted in a robust and efficient network infrastructure for the customer. They can now enjoy improved connectivity and reliable Wi-Fi performance in their desired areas.
